In this second blog of our Waypoint, Meet the Team series, we introduce you to David.
If you could build your dream house what architectural style would you choose?
Wow, that’s a really tough one. It would all depend on the location, setting, and size but if it were a smaller home in a neighborhood I would choose a bungalow or craftsman style home. My dream home would be on water though so I would have to go with an Adirondack styled home on a lake or a Spanish Colonial on the beach.
What is something most people don’t know about you?
I love reading biographies on historically prominent figures.
Favorite hobby outside of work?
I enjoy working out and coming up with new and healthy dishes in the kitchen. Sometimes, my cooking experiments are a disaster but occasionally I create something delicious if not interesting.
What was your favorite home sale experience?
As part of the Waypoint Real Estate Group, I helped a close friend of mine purchase his dream lake house. We were able to negotiate him a great deal and it’s been fun to watch him enjoy his home and open it up to others.
What is your favorite part of working in real estate?
Knowing that what I do is making a positive impact on people’s lives. Whether it be helping a client find their dream home, partnering with clients who are financially struggling, or counseling our investors looking to build their real estate portfolios. As a Waypoint Real Estate Group team member I enjoy being a trusted real estate adviser able to offer expertise and creative solutions to my clients.
What’s your guilty pleasure in your free time?
Watching survival shows on TV. I always get roped in somehow even though I know the outcome already. I’m embarrassed to admit that I watch shows where they search for Bigfoot. Unfortunately, the DNA test is always inconclusive because the hair samples are contaminated. The search continues…
What do you wish more people knew about Realtors?
The great value a Realtor can add. I think people who have truly been served well by a Realtor with market knowledge expertise, negotiating skill, a thorough understanding of the transactional process, professional marketing competence, and a heart to serve know the true value we can bring. The Waypoint Real Estate Group strives to excel in every area of the process.
What advice would you give to a first time home buyer?
Make sure you are using a Realtor willing to take the time to educate you on the market and walk you through the transaction process. Real estate transactions can often be complex and difficult to navigate, especially if you are unfamiliar with the process and language of real estate. Having an adviser willing to walk you through the process step by step will remove a lot of stress and confusion and ultimately result in a much smoother and enjoyable experience.
