The Waypoint Real Estate Group understands how confusing it can be to buy your first home.
If you are first time home buyers than it’s time for you to head back to school. Back to school you say? Don’t worry. This is a class you will really want to take, and the best part is- no high tuition fees. This class is actually going to save you money.
The Federal Housing Administration (FHA) has announced a new program called Homeowners Armed with Knowledge (HAWK) that is offering classes to first time home buyers to prepare them for their future. Participants will learn a variety of knowledge from applying for a mortgage to choosing a contractor for a kitchen remodel. Classes will occur before, during and after closing to help guide you through the process.
Potential borrowers who complete the class will be eligible to save an average of $325 a year, or nearly $10,000 over the life of a loan. For first time home buyers, this is a great savings. For the FHA this means that first time home buyers will be armed with the knowledge they need for home ownership, reducing the risk of loan default.
HAWK classes will be taught by agencies that have been approved by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development. To find a class in your area check out www.HUD.gov.
