Waypoint Real Estate Group just celebrated its 2nd anniversary. I’m so unbelievably proud of my team, and the work we’ve been able to do in our community of Orlando and Celebration, Florida. Statistics say that 66% of small businesses will fail within 2 years and only 50% will survive in 5 years. Well — we’ve cleared this hurdle! We can’t wait to leap high and far above the 5-year hurdle.
Why We Got Into this Business
Whenever you start a business, whether it’s a small company or a mom & pop shop, you want to make sure you’re getting into it for the right reasons. For me, real estate is so much more than just buying and selling homes for people. It’s about serving others.
My team and I act as a resource for the people we work with. We listen carefully to them in order to guide them through the home-buying or -selling process. Yes, we sell homes (and help people buy them), but for us it’s the motivation that’s most important. With every house we buy, sell, fix, or flip, we’re given an amazing opportunity to change someone’s life.
A Unique Business
Real estate is unlike any other industry out there. At the end of the day, it’s a people business. We’re serving our clients to help them achieve success, no matter what they’re setting out to do. Nothing is more important than a home: it’s where you lay your head down at night.
Home is where you go to feel safe, but it’s also so much more than that. It’s a foundation for the way you live your live. It allows you to make memories, build up networks of family and friends, celebrate the good times, take shelter from the bad, and create goals for your future.
Our Unique Mindset
“The measure of a man’s greatness is not the number of servants he has, but the number of people he serves.” John Hagee.
Working in a community like Orlando, which was recently named the #1 market in the country for home value growth, give us an interesting opportunity. By working with others in such a select community, we’re able to have a profound impact on the home-buyers and -sellers we work with.
Before beginning Waypoint real estate, I worked at a major Fortune 50 company doing what I do now. While I loved my job, and built a priceless skill set that helps me to this day, I knew that I was destined to start my own business. Working for a major company means having endless resources and a huge safety net. But in order to do the kind of work I needed to, I knew I would need autonomy. After all, I want to be able to bring direct and meaningful impact to my clients and my team.
I’m so lucky to have found a team of trusted advisors and colleagues to go on this journey with.
Let’s Work Together
We strive to do good, both inside and outside of our business, because we know that that is the surest way to make a positive difference in our community. Our goal in real estate is to build meaningful and robust relationships with every person we come in contact with. That’s just the way we do business.
At the end of the day, you have to trust your gut. My gut has always told me to help other people, and I’m lucky to have found a group of individuals who share that feeling. Together, we serve clients as Waypoint Real Estate Group. We’re so excited to see what the future holds!
